Robert Hurless

SPRING VALLEY — Robert E. Hurless, 84, of Spring Valley, formerly of College Point, N.Y., died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007 at Spring Valley Nursing Center.

Born Jan. 23, 1923, in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Elza and Leslie (Lovequest) Hurless, he married Mary DeCristofano. She died in 1999.

He was a machinist for Edo Corporation in New York until retiring, and a World War II Marine Corps veteran, who served from 1944 to 1946.

Surviving are one son, Carl Hurless of Spring Valley; and his cousins and caretakers, Mike (Kaye) Hurless of Spring Valley, Stacey (Tracey) Burgin of Cherry, and Bob Hurless of LaSalle.

He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held next week at the C. Johann & Sons Funeral Home in College Point, N.Y., with burial in Long Island National VA Cemetery, Long Island, N.Y.

Visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Barto Funeral Home in Spring Valley.
