Memorial Day services announced

BUREAU — Memorial Day services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Greenwood Cemetery. In case of rain, services will be held at the Community Building. Refreshments will be offered at the Community Building after the service.

BUDA — Memorial Day will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hopeland Cemetery, located west of Buda by the Mautino State Park. Guest speakers will be Bureau Valley High School teacher and coach Craig Johnson and the Rev. Fred Criminger of Bunker Hill Church of God. In case of rain, the services will be held in the main gym at Bureau Valley South Elementary and Junior High School. The Buda American Legion Post and Auxiliary will conduct traditional military services followed by a 21-gun salute and taps by Ryan Haney and Joan Maas.

CHERRY — Memorial Day services, conducted by the Ladd American Legion, will be at 9:50 a.m. Monday in the Cherry Miner’s Cemetery.

DALZELL — Memorial Day services, conducted by the Ladd American Legion, will be at Dalzell Memorial Park at 10:30 a.m. Monday. In case of inclement weather, the 11:30 a.m. service will be in St. Benedict’s social hall in Ladd.

DEPUE — A Memorial Day Mass will be at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Coffee and rolls will be served after Mass in the parish hall. In case of rain, Mass will be at St. Mary’s Church.

DOVER — A combined honor guard made up of the members of American Legion Post 125, VFW Post 4323 and the AMVETS Post 180, and the American Legion Auxiliary, will conduct graveside ceremonies at 9 a.m. Monday at the Prairie Repose Cemetery.

LADD — Memorial Day services, conducted by the Ladd American Legion, will be at 8:50 a.m. in the Berean Cemetery; at 11 a.m. in the Ladd Cemetery and at 11:30 a.m. in War Memorial Park in Ladd. The Memorial Day address will be given by Martin Rue of the LaSalle County Veterans Assistance Commission. In case of inclement weather, the above services may be canceled, but the 11:30 a.m. service will be in St. Benedict’s social hall in Ladd.
