Starved Rock Model A Club

PERU — A picnic at the home of Roger and Judy Hooper was the setting for the June 25 meeting of the Starved Rock Model A Club. Fried chicken was furnished by the club and each member brought a dish to pass. After the meal the garden railroad was enjoyed by all.

During the business meeting, the following members were recognized for participating in the Ottawa Cruise Night on June 13: Kevin and Sheri Mikesell, Don and Joanne Jones, Steve Marshall, John and Joyce Timmons, Roger and Judy Hooper, and Ralph Bowermaster.

Upcoming club activities include: 80th birthday celebration of the Model A on the north side of Washington Park in Ottawa on Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m.; and a tour to Bradford to dine at Kaiserhof, the German restaurant, where the membership will meet with the Peoria Model “A” Club. Tentative activities for the fall were also discussed.

The group’s next meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Garzanelli’s Restaurant in Oglesby. After dinner, club members will drive their Model As to the park for the monthly business meeting.
