PRINCETON — An honorary and lifetime membership and a commemorative plaque were recently presented to Gene and Marcia Van Cauwenberge as founders of the Bureau Valley Sams Camping Chapter.
The Chapter was founded and chartered by the Van Cauwenberges, of Sheffield, in June 1986. Current Chapter members encompass an area from the Annawan-Kewanee area to Ottawa and from West Brooklyn to Henry.
The Chapter supports a number of local charities including Muscular Dystro-phy, American Lung Association, American Cancer Society, Starved Rock Special Olympics, Freedom House, Bureau County Health and Wellness Clinic and nationally, Dogs for the Deaf.
