John Mathas

NEPONSET — John W. Mathas, 33, of Neponset died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, from an automobile accident on the Mineral-Neponset Blacktop.

Born Dec. 26, 1974, in Berwyn to Mark Cole and Ida Mathas, he married Michelle Brooks March 17, 2002, in Las Vegas, Nev. She survives.

He worked for Fagen Inc. of Minnesota, working on the ethanol plant at Annawan.

Also surviving are four children, Cynthia, Caile, Kristy and John Jr.; his father of Sheffield; his grandmother, Shirley Cole of Sheffield; four uncles, Louis, Ronald, Elmer and Randy; two cousins, Casandra and Deanne; and his aunt, Sharon.

He was preceded in death by his mother; his paternal grandfather; his maternal grandparents; and one aunt, Sandy, and one uncle, Gene.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Sheffield, with Father Jerry Logan officiating. Burial will be in the Sheffield Cemetery, Sheffield.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
