Grant is state finalist

BRADFORD — Taylor Rae Grant, 17, of Bradford has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Illinois Pageant to be held Saturday and Sunday at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles. She is the daughter of Jimmy and Jacqui Grant, and the granddaughter of Mrs. B. Cullinan of Seatonville and Mary Grant of Ottawa.

The winner of the pageant, which is for girls 16-18, will receive a $1,000 cash award, the official crown and a banner, a bouquet of roses and air transportation to compete in the national pageant at Disneyland in California.

Grant is a Bureau Valley High School student and lists volleyball, basketball, track, cheerleading and drama as activities. She is an honor roll student and volunteers in her community and church. She enjoys traveling with her family, especially cruising the Caribbean, running, hiking, fishing and all outdoor activities.
