Library closings

WALNUT — The Walnut Public Library will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 26 and 27 for Christmas and Dec. 31, Jan. 1, 2 and 3, for the New Year’s holiday. The library will also be closed Jan. 25-March 2 to replace flooring.

Santa Claus visit

SHEFFIELD — Santa Claus will be in Sheffield at 10 a.m. Dec. 20 at Pride Park in downtown Sheffield. In case of inclement weather, Santa will visit with children at the community center.

Medication review

SPRING VALLEY — St. Margaret’s Hospital will hold a free medication review service from 11 a.m. to noon Dec. 23 in the hospital’s first floor DeAngelo Resource Room (Rooms 104 and 105). Participants are asked to bring in their prescriptions and over-the-counter medications. Pharmacists will be available to discuss medications and potential reactions. This service will continue to be offered on the fourth Tuesday of the month. Winter concert

WYANET — The Bureau Valley Wyanet K-2 winter concert will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Bureau Valley High School auditorium.

Mittens wanted

PRINCETON — The Bureau County Senior Center will collect new gloves and mittens for its Mitten Tree until Dec. 22. The items, for adult, teens, children and infant, will then be donated to the WIC program.

Poinsettia sale

MANLIUS — The Bureau Valley High School FFA will sell poinsettias, $3 for small and $5 for large, for the holiday season. All items can be picked up from the high school’s agriculture department through Thursday. Orders may be placed with any FFA member or by calling the high school to order and set up a pick up time.

Lights outing

PRINCETON — The Bureau County Senior Center will host a Princeton Christmas Lights trip on Tuesday. Participants will leave the senior center at 4 p.m. to eat at Wendy’s and then proceed to view the lights in Princeton. A sign-up sheet is located at the senior center. Dinner will be on your own and transportation will be $2. For more information, call the senior center at (815) 875-3981.
