PJWC membership

PRINCETON — The Princeton Junior Women’s Club will offer free membership to anyone who joins during the month of January. Anyone interested should attend this month’s meeting, set for 6:30 p.m. today, Thursday, at the Prouty Building in Princeton. For more information, call Jill Kuhne at (815) 872-5409.

Flea market

PRINCETON — The Second Sunday flea market at the Bureau County Fairgrounds in Princeton will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Some of the items to be sold include collectible coins, antiques, toys and items from an estate sale. Admission is $1 for adults. For information, call (815) 875-2606.

GFWC meeting

PRINCETON — The GFWC Woman’s Club of Princeton will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Prouty Building in Prince-ton. Since the scheduled speaker had to cancel, members will have a short meeting, work together on annual reports and have social time with refreshments. Meetings are always open to all women in the area. Without a speaker or performance this might be a good time to learn about the Club and meet the active members.

Support group

LASALLE — The Illinois Valley Center for Independent Living’s peer support group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the IVCIL office, 18 Gunia Drive in LaSalle. Consumers of IVCIL, as well as family and friends, are invited to attend and discuss issues that are affecting you positively or negatively with family, friends and/or community. Reservations are needed by noon Monday by calling (815) 224-3126.

Chili supper

PRINCETON — The Bureau County Senior Center will host its fourth annual all-you-can-eat chili supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 20 at the senior center, 16 W. Marion St. in Princeton. The menu will consist of chili with crackers and cornbread, drinks and homemade pie. The charge for supper is $5. There will be a charge of $1 for each additional piece of pie.

Trip planned

PRINCETON — The Bureau County Senior Citizens Association will host a trip to Bald Eagle Days at Starved Rock on Jan. 26. The cost will be $30, which will include transportation, lunch and a trolley ride. The center will take 15 passengers, so the first 15 seniors who sign up will go. Reservations must be made and paid for by Jan. 16. The bus will leave the center at 10 a.m. and return in the afternoon. A sign-up sheet is available at the senior center, 16 W. Marion St. in Princeton. Reservations may also be made by calling the senior center at (815) 879-3981.
