PRINCETON — Margaret C. Sanman, 91, formerly of Princeton, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington after a short illness.

She had been living at Lake Barrington Woods Assisted Living Center for the past six months. She was born on April 7, 1917, in Selly Springs, N.D., to Siemon and Sophie Schaumburg. She graduated from high school in Bismarck, N.D., in 1936. She married Charles Sanman on Feb. 27, 1937, in Pearl City, Ill. She was a life-long homemaker. She was an active member of Presbyterian Church in Princeton and formerly a member of the Presbyterian Church in Winnebago. She also taught Sunday school for many years. She was a past matron of the Eastern Star in Winnebago. She was a member of Bureau Valley Country Club. She loved to play Bridge, golf, and was an avid Cubs and Bears fan.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Jean (Nicholas) Cokkinias of Palatine; one granddaughter, Lindsey Anne Cokkinias of Palatine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1988; one daughter, Janice Lee Sanman in 1954; one brother, Donald Schaumburg; and two sisters, Irene Roeth and Verna Gahm.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Jon Olinger officiating. A luncheon will follow the funeral at the Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow the luncheon in the Winnebago Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services in the funeral home.
