MANLIUS — The Bureau Valley High School art 2, 3 and 4 classes traveled to Chicago recently to study many works at the The Art Institute of Chicago as well as taking a walking tour of well-known sculptures as Cloud Gate, or as affectionately called “The Bean” by Anish Kapoor, The Flamingo by Alexander Calder and The Four Seasons by Marc Chagall.
BVHS art instructor Sheila Heth took the Art 2 students on a tour of a wide range of artworks in the museum. Art 3 and 4 students were able to view the special exhibit “Becoming Edvard Munch, Influence, Anxiety, and Myth.”
All of the students wrote a paper on their experience that entailed their personal favorites and their understanding of the artworks that they saw.
Barb Bolin also accompanied the students.
