Bishop Hill run
BISHOP HILL — The 15th annual Swedish Stomp and Skamperoo will be Saturday, April 25. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and race-time is 9 a.m. The Skamperoo is scheduled for 10 a.m. Registration fees paid prior to the day of the race are $14 and $16 race day. Friends of Hennepin
GENESEO — The Friends of Hennepin and the Henry County Mounted Search and Rescue will sponsor an afternoon of fun for the family from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Izaak Walton Memorial Lodge in the Izaak Walton Park, one mile north of Geneseo on Route 82, just south of the Hennepin Canal. There will be a potato and salad bar, horse rides and Carl Smith’s wooden cowboy hats. Free-will donations are welcome. Proceeds will go to the Friends of Hennepin and the Henry County Mounted Search and Rescue. For more information, call (309) 937-3901 or (309) 937-2711.

Jazz dance
PERU — The LaSalle-Peru High School Jazz Dance, featuring the L-P Jazz Ensemble, will be  held at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 25, in the west Gym. The guest artists are the IVCC Jazz Ensemble and guest director is Larry Butkus. Swing dance lessons will be given by Alex Guerrero at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Tickets are $3 for students and senior citizens, $5 per person and $10 per family. The public is invited. The event is sponsored by the L-P Band Parents Association and IV Cellular.

Bluebell festival
EARVILLE — The 26th annual Bluebell Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26 and May 2-3, at Maple Leaf Park on Route 34 in Earlville. There will be a $4 donation per person with the funds going to forest restoration. For more information, call (815) 246-6200.

Relay for Life
HENNEPIN — The Hennepin Relay for Life teams will hold a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at the Country Stop Restaurant on Route 26. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children, 6 to 12. All proceeds will go toward the teams’ totals for the 2009 Relay For Life of Marshall and Putnam counties, which will be held from 4 p.m. June 12 to 8 a.m. June 13 in Henry Central Park.
