HENRY — Mary M. Maher, 80, formerly of Webster Park and Peru, died at 8:10 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Henry, where she had resided for the past six months.

Born April 15, 1929, in Peoria to William and Marie (Pollot) O’Neil, she married Dale “Pete” Maher Jan. 24, 1953. He died Feb. 9, 2006.

She was a 1947 graduate of The Academy of Our Lade in Peoria. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Peru VFW Auxiliary.

Surviving are four daughters, Becky Borem of Oglesby, Maribeth (Duke) Ficek of Oglesby, Molly (Jim “Bear”) Pyszka of Dalzell and Kathy (Jeff) Burris of Oglesby; one son, Tim (Mary Ellen) Maher of Peru; one sister, Dorothy White of Peru; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Church, Peru, with the Rev. Harold Datzman, O.S.B., officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Webster Park.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Hurst Funeral Home, LaSalle, where a wake service will be at 4:45 p.m. An additional visitation will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
