PRINCETON — The rumors may be running rampant about the future of LCN Closers in Princeton, but there are no new facts to report, according to Kyle Stuebs, human resource manager for LCN.

Stuebs said LCN management met Monday with employees to let them know the management is taking an extensive evaluation of the entire business model for LCN and is looking at ways to keep the business successful now and in the future.

“We did share with our employees about this evaluation of our business model,” Stuebs said Thursday morning. “We felt it very important to communicate with our employees. We owe it to our employees to be open and honest with them. We care very deeply for them and for our community. ”

Stuebs acknowledged Monday’s meeting could have caused some uncertainty for employees. There are tons of rumors all over town, he said.

“I can tell you we have no plans to move the plant out of Princeton,” Stuebs said. “We have no plans to close the plant.”

As far as rumors of shift consolidations, Stuebs said there are no definitive plans for shift consolidation. Other possible changes are being evaluated as the business model is still being evaluated, he said.

When asked how employees would be kept informed of any potential pending changes, Stuebs said it was premature to comment on how changes would be communicated until the company decided what those changes were.

As far as a time frame for any decisions or changes, Stuebs said the company is not working under a time limit. Management is doing a thorough evaluation of the company’s business model, which takes time, he said.

LCN Closers handles both exterior, interior and specialty door closer needs. The Princeton plant opened in 1949 and currently employs about 390 people.
