Ladd School Board 5-19
LADD — The Ladd School Board took action on the following items at its meeting May 19:
• Accepted with regret the resignation of Beth Doll, board member.
• Learned the drainage project on the west side of the building has been completed.
• Heard the spring music program was held on April 30, and teacher Jaquelyn Garifo-Ribas
and the students did a wonderful job.
• Heard 10 students qualified for the state track meet on May 8 and 9.
• Heard the PTO hosted the All Awards Banquet on May 18.
• Heard the Ladd Education and Enrichment Foundation is busy planning for the annual three-on-three basketball tournament on July 11. They are accepting applications for teams and welcome any volunteers to assist with the tournament.
• Heard the new PTO officers elected for next year are Amanda Fiocchi, vice president, and Tammy Parochetti, treasurer.
• Reviewed the tax levy extension report from the Bureau County Clerk.
• Received a quote from Specialty Floors, Inc. for $1,313 to refinish the gym floor.
Superintendent Michelle Zeko was directed to get a quote for sanding, painting and refinishing the floor for future planning.
• Heard Amanda Peterson, technology coordinator, demonstrated the new school Web site that is currently under construction. The board commended her for a job well done.
• Approved splitting the music/band position with Malden Grade School at 60/40 for the 2009-10 school year due to higher numbers participating in band at Ladd.
• Approved the speech services contract with Lisa Abbott for three days per week, 18 to 21 hours, at the same hourly rate as last year.
• Amended the 2009-10 school calendar changing the School Improvement Day with an 11:30 dismissal from Feb. 12 to Feb. 19.
• Elected Marty Fiocchi as board vice president for a two-year term.
