Spring Valley Elementary
SPRING VALLEY — The Spring Valley Elementary School Board took action on the following items at its meeting June 22:
• Heard Superintendent Dan Marenda review the 2008-09 budget. Marenda said the education fund would end the year with a $78,000 deficit if the payment came in on time, and that deficit was due completely to an early retirement payout.
• Heard the new Macintosh computers have arrived.
• Heard summer maintenance is ahead of schedule at both buildings.
• Approved the prevailing wage resolution.
• Approved keeping meeting dates for the 2009-10 school year on the third Wednesday of each month.
• Approved the Life Safety Completion report.
• Approved IESA membership for sports.
• Approved a retirement request for Deb Arbet.
• Approved a maternity leave request for Tricia Burkhart.
• Accepted the resignation of Jim Hermes as principal of JFK so that he could assume the superintendent position at Spring Valley C. C. School District 99.
