YORKVILLE — Theodore C. Anderson, 73, of Yorkville passed away Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Hillside Rehab and Care Center in Yorkville. He was born June 3, 1936, in Princeton, the son of Charles F. and Bernice (Johnson) Anderson.

Ted was united in marriage on Sept. 14, 1963, in Decatur to the former Miss Joel McClelland and they spent the next 45 happy years of their lives together. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Anderson was a very active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Yorkville, where he performed various duties. Ted served on its Christian Administration Committee for 20-plus years. He volunteered in the Parish Center office for several years, as well as assisting in counting the weekly offerings. Ted loved playing cards. He was particularly fond of playing bridge, belonging to three weekly bridge clubs at one time. Ted was employed as a Senior Professional Representative by Merck, Sharpe & Dohme Pharmaceutical Co. from 1964 to 1996.

He is survived by his wife, Joel Anderson of Yorkville; his children, Dr. Richard (Janice) Anderson of Morton and Jennifer (Michael) Kimminau of Millington; his grandchildren, Timothy Johnston of Millington, Gabrielle Anderson of Morton, Alexandra Johnston of Millington and Clayton Anderson of Morton; his brother, Abbot Hugh Anderson of Lisle; his sisters, Helen Anderson of Walnut and Wilma Anderson of Hastings, Mich.; and his dear family friend, Mary Eckhoff of Hastings, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bernice Anderson; and two brothers in infancy.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut St., Yorkville, with Father Matthew Lamoureux, M.I.C., officiating. Interment will be private.

Friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Pkwy, Yorkville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials for Ted may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
