MANLIUS — A Sheffield woman has opened Koning Chiropractic in the former Mullin Memorial Clinic in Manlius.
Tauni Koning, who grew up in Mineral and graduated from Annawan High School in 2002, opened her office April 20.
She graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, in October 2008, after receiving her bachelor’s degree and doctor of chiropractic in four years.
“I like small towns where you get to know your patients better than in larger towns,” she said.
Koning, who now lives in Sheffield, chose the former medical clinic in Manlius as her office because she felt it needed something there after the building had been empty for the last two years.
“It needed something to be here, and I needed a home,” she added. “It is the right place for me to be.”
After doing some remodeling of the building’s interior, Koning uses all of the rooms for her practice.
“I want to help people feel better and feel chiropractic can help make a person’s life better,” she said. “It is not just for pain relief, but it can enhance a person’s life if they come, not just when they are in pain but on a regular basis.”
Koning’s office hours are 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday; 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; and 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday. Her phone number is (815) 445-2225 (BACK).
“I like to see the whole family from young to old, from babies to the elderly. If they start young, they can have a better life ahead of them,” she said.
Koning’s husband, Nick, grew up in Walnut and graduated from Bureau Valley High School. Both of his parents are in business, while her brother also operates a business in Sheffield.
