Sierens will note 50th wedding anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth C. Sierens of 308 S. West St., Annawan, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house beginning at 4 p.m. Aug. 8 at Randy’s Barn across the street from American Legion in Atkinson.

Kenneth Clarence Sierens and the former Sara Jane Anderson were married Aug. 1, 1959, at St. Patrick’s Church in Sheffield. They are the parents of four children, Kenney Joe Sierens (deceased), Wanda (Mike) Lucas of Annawan, Jimmy Joe Sierens (deceased) and Troy (Tracy) Sierens of Mineral. They also have seven grandchildren, Joe, Caila, Alexis, Jordyn and Kristin Sierens, and Austin and Hunter Lucas.

They owned and operated the Mineral Elevator, located in both Mineral and Atkinson, for 35 years. They also farm in the Mineral area.

All family and friends are invited to attend the open house. The couple request that gifts be omitted.
