Legion and Auxiliary will meet Wednesday

PRINCETON — American Legion Auxiliary Unit 125 of Princeton will hold its monthly meeting beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the post home, 1549 W. Peru St. in Princeton. Members are reminded that the new member cards have arrived and dues are the same.

Members are asked to bring their donations of “Box Tops for Education” and aluminum pull
rings. They will hear a report from Agnes Dunn on the 89th ALA convention held in Springfield in July.

The Unit is asking for complete and correct mailing addresses of Bureau County and surrounding area soldiers who are serving in the Middle East, Afghanistan and Africa so the Unit can send them a Christmas box in early November.

Donations of items are being accepted and there is a collection box in the vestibule at the post home along with a posted list of needed/wanted items. No glass containers, chocolate, pork, peanuts or peanut butter will be accepted. Personal care items should be sealed and unused; travel sizes are preferred. Monetary donations are also needed to help defray the costs of shipping and can be sent to ALA #125, 1549 W. American Legion Post 125 of Princeton will hold its monthly meeting beginning at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the post home.

The new officers will be seated and are as follows: Bob Doyle Sr., commander; Terry DeSalle, senior vice commander; David Ohlson, junior vice commander; Roger Eickmiere, finance officer; Beverly Neff, adjutant; and Ken Dunn, chaplain.
