Blood drive

BUDA — A Red Cross blood drive will be from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Buda Community Hall. Anyone who has not given blood in the last 36 days is available. ID is required.

Back to School night

BUREAU — Leepertown Grade School will host a Back to School night for the Bureau community beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Community members are invited to visit the school and meet the staff. Board of Education members will treat the community to hot dogs, barbecue, chips, drink, snow cones and elephant ears.

Cleaning set

PRINCETON — The Covered Bridge Quilters Guild will sponsor a sewing machine/serger cleaning from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 11 at the First United Methodist Church, 316 S. Church St., Princeton. There will be an early drop off at 7 a.m. The cleaning cost is: $32.50 for regular machines, $40 for sergers and $40 and up for computerized/embroidery sewing machines and computerized sergers. Fundraiser

PRINCETON — An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner fundraiser to help send Princeton eighth-grade students on a Washington, D.C., trip will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 23 at Italian Express. The cost is $6 for spaghetti, bread and drink.

Benefit cookout

PRINCETON — The Wyanet Community Club will host a benefit cookout for Gail Barton from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Carquest in Princeton. The menu will include rib eyes, butterflys, pork burgers, brats, hot dogs, chips and pop. All proceeds will go to the Barton family for medical bills.

WYANET — A cookout hosted by the United Pentecostal Reach program will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Wyanet Locker. The menu will include rib eyes, butterflys, pork burgers, brats, hot dogs, chips and pop.

Fair museum closed

PRINCETON — The  Bureau County Fair Museum building at the fairgrounds in Princeton will not be in service for the 154th Bureau County Fair. According to Gary Monier, fair president,  the building sustained damage during the storm in July, and the fair board has decided to keep the building closed until needed repairs can be made.
Anyone interested in donating toward the building repairs can make a monetary gift to the Bureau County Fair, or contact the office by calling (815) 875-2905.
