Ladd Village Board
LADD — The Ladd Village Board took action on the following items at its meeting July 28:
• Purchased 11 replacement street signs, four “Road Closed’ signs, four "Water on Pavement" signs, 12 traffic cones and 12 barricades for $1885.82.
• Heard of a pavement cave-in at Hennepin and Elm streets. The sewer line was televised and jetted with repairs to be made.
• Heard of a storm damage incident at the waste water treatment plant. The generator building roof blew off and will be replaced with a rubber roof for $750.
• Received an update on the ongoing cost of service/rate of return electric study.
• Heard Chris Dudek address the board regarding his plans for a new building on Main Street. He recently purchased two empty lots and intends to construct a steel building to house a janitorial supply business and a potato chip franchise. He was directed to present his building plans to the board for approval.
• Approved liquor licenses for Softails, Ladd Moose Lodge, Rip’s Tavern, Lanuti’s Restaurant, Ladd Lanes, Casey’s and Cancun.
• Approved the Fiscal Year 2009/10 appropriation ordinance in the amount of $6,150,500.
• Approved the village’s local share of $500 for the Economic Development District.
• Denied a request from a landlord for a reduction in meter deposit fees for efficiency apartments.
• Heard the Ladd Community Improvement Association purchased two new park benches for Memorial Park.
• Heard resident Jim Piacenti has written a book on Ladd’s history and has donated a copy to the village. Copies of the book are available for purchase in the village clerk’s office.
