Book club
PRINCETON — The Princeton Public Library Book Club will meet at 4 p.m. Sept. 10 in the community meeting room at the library. The group will discuss “The Blood of Flowers” by Anita Amirrezvani. The library staff will be able to assist anyone in borrowing this book. Everyone is invited to join the group, sponsored by Friends of Princeton Public Library, in discussing this book.

PRINCETON — The Covered Bridge Quilters Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 3 at the First Baptist Church, 1719 S. Euclid Ave., Princeton. Guests are welcome to attend for a fee of $5. The feature program will be “Working with Wool,” presented by Mary Jo Ryan and the Guild show and tell. A workshop is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Farm Bureau Building. “I Be Quilting Bag” will be presented by Robyn Welsh.
Krager reunion

Benefit
OTTAWA — A homecoming dress consignment sale sponsored by the Marquette Go Club will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Ottawa. A $5 service fee per dress and $1 fee for shoes or jewelry will be charged. Dresses and accessories to be sold may be dropped off from 9 a.m. to noon. PRINCETON — A blood drive, sponsored by the First United Methodist Church, will be from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 3 in the church fellowship hall, 316 S. Church St. Appointments can be made by calling the Princeton office of the American Red Cross at (815) 879-2231.

WYANET — The Wyanet Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the historical building, 109 E. Main St. The public is invited to attend.

Ice cream social
OTTAWA — A musical ice cream social will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 30 in the Reddick Garden at Reddick mansion, 100 W. Lafayette St. Entertainment will include Irish and bluegrass music by Sarah and Peggy Arter from 2 to 3 p.m. and Marjorie Larson on bagpipes. Donations appreciated. Participants should bring lawn chairs.
IVCIL event
LASALLE — Illinois Valley Center for Independent Living Youth Services Program will have a “Parents Evening Out,” a support group for parents of children with any type of disability, from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 3 in the IVCIL conference room.
