Grand jury returns indictments
PRINCETON — A Bureau County grand jury returned the following indictments on Aug. 12:
• Luke A. Raley, 31, of Spring Valley was indicted for the Class 2 felony of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. He is accused of delivering less than one gram of heroin to another on April 29. An agent of the TRI-DENT task force testified before the grand jury.
In a separate incident, Raley was indicted for the Class X felony of unlawful possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, heroin. He is accused of possessing with the intent to deliver more than 15 grams of heroin on July 30. An agent of the TRI-Dent task force testified before the grand jury.
• Jennifer L. Raley, 28, of Spring Valley was indicted for the Class 1 felony of unlawful possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, heroin. She is accused of possessing more than one but less than 15 grams of heroin with the intent to deliver on July 30. An agent of the TRI-DENT task force testified before the grand jury.
• Malcolm L. Porter, 28, of Princeton was indicted for the Class 1 felony of residential burglary. He is accused of entering the home of an Ohio resident on July 13. Sgt. Walt Mack with the Bureau County Sheriff's Department testified before the grand jury.
In a separate incident, Porter was indicted for the Class 2 felony of aggravated battery. He is accused of committing a battery to a Bureau County deputy on July 22. Deputy Mark Olszewski testified before the grand jury.
• Brittany A. Jones, 22, of Manlius was indicted for the Class 3 felony of theft. She is accused of exerting unauthorized control over property of a Princeton business on July 7. Princeton Police Officer John Shofner testified before the grand jury.
• Robert A. Vecchia, 33, of Spring Valley was indicted for the Class 2 felony of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. He is accused of delivering less than one gram of cocaine to another on July 14. An agent of the TRI-DENT task force testified before the grand jury.
• Brandon J. Knaak, 28, of Ohio was indicted for the Class 4 felony of driving while license revoked/subsequent offense. He is accused of driving a motor vehicle on July 25 at a time his license was revoked by the Illinois Secretary of State.
• There were also two suppressed cases.
All indictments were presented to the grand jury by Bureau County State's Attorney Patrick Herrmann, First Assistant State's Attorney Anthony Sciuto and Assistant State's Attorney Daniel Anderson.
The indictments on Jones, Knaak and one suppressed case were returned before Bureau County Circuit Judge Marc Bernabei. The indictments on Porter, Vecchia, Luke Raley, Jennifer Raley and one suppressed case were returned before Associate Circuit Judge C.J. Hollerich.
