SEATONVILLE — The Seatonville Village Board took action on the following items at its meeting Aug. 10:

• Saw Steve Peterson sworn in as trustee to complete Zach Plym’s term. Plym was appointed village president in July after the resignation of former village president Rick Piontek. Piontek was also presented a gift in appreciation for his time served.

• Heard a presentation from John McCormick and Jan Ajster from IVAC on programs, events and services provided.

• Heard about an invitation received from Spring Valley Mayor Cliff Banks for a meeting.

• Received correspondence from IDOT regarding planned projects on Interstate 80.

• Received grant opportunity information from NCICG.

• Discussed correspondence received from Chamlin and Associates engineering firm regarding correspondence with the Illinois EPA regarding the village’s wells.

• Approved hiring Dale Bernard as a part-time employee at a rate of $10 per hour.

• Discussed condition of properties, street repairs, the storage building roof and the dump truck.

• Approved the Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan as presented.

• Discussed a tree on North Center Street that the village needs to trim.

• Discussed the committee list.

• Approved bills for payment in the amount of $10,143.41.
