It will be a big week in the Manlius Rolle Bolle Club

The three top winners in each division will be crowned in Wednesday’s season finale starting at 7 p.m. in downtown Manlius.

The league will then mark its 30th anniversary at 4 p.m. Saturday. Anyone who was a former member, all present members and any other player from here to Rock Island are invited to play in this fun game. It is a game that is played in the rain, as evidenced by the games in the rain, this summer.

Bolder Kenny Rodgers says, A food stand will be provided by the Manlius Historical Society, “so if you are just coming to watch, you can also eat.”

Last week’s winners in the rain soaked games were: Clayton Hewitt, Rachael VanKerreBroeck and Rita Frank. Second went to Rob Morey, Kent Carpenter and Austin McQuarrie with third going to Lisa Marchand, Kristene and Roger DeBrock, fourth place  to Donna Ericson, Carl Gustafson and Tony Marchand. Placing in fifth were; Coleen VanKerreBroeck, Harold “Baldy” Oloffson and Wilma Anderson.

• Summer hoops: Regular season champ Team Dave Davis also captured the summer men’s basketball 4-on-4 Princeton Park District tournament championship. The Davis team avenged their only loss of the season to Team Jason Marquis 69-38 in Tuesday’s title game.

Jason Angel had 22 points and Shane Ballard 14 for the winners. The Marquis team, who beat the Davis team on a last-second shot in overtime to split its two league games, was lead by Justin Peterson (13) and Adam Franklin (8).

Team Davis opened the tournament with a 64-45 win over  Team Brandon Nyman while Team Marquis beat Team Dave Anderson 48-32. Prelim games saw Team Brandon Nyman defeat Team Alex Franklin 100-57 and Team Dave Anderson top Team Trevor Rowley 63-50.

The Met fall league will start in mid-October.

• Homestead 3-on-3: The Princeton Park district will host a new 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Sept. 13 during the Homestead Festival for ages from first grade through adults. All players registering by Sept. 7 will receive a T-shirt. For more information, contact Ryan Luecke at the Met at (815) 872-0840.
