Hall sentenced for felony heroin possesssion
PRINCETON — A Princeton man has been placed on probation after pleading guilty to the Class 4 felony of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, heroin.
Gregory M. Hall, 30, entered his open guilty plea on July 17 before Circuit Judge Marc Bernabei. The sentencing hearing was Aug. 26 in Bureau County Court.
Hall was placed on three years TASC probation with the condition he pay court costs totaling $215, attend counseling with TASC services in Peoria, and serve six months n the Bureau County Jail. He was also ordered to perform 100 public service hours, pay a $15 monthly probation fee and submit to periodic drug testing.
On April 16, Hall was arrested by agents of the TRI-DENT task force and was found to be in possession of 26 packets of heroin weighing about two grams.
Hall was represented at his sentencing hearing by Peoria attorney Thomas Penn. Prosecuting the case was Bureau County State's Attorney Patrick Herrmann.
Hall was previously placed on probation in 2005 for possession of a controlled substance. That probation was revoked in 2007, and Hall was sentenced to four years in prison. Hall also has convictions for driving while license suspended, consumption of alcohol by a minor, and criminal trespass to land.
