GENESEO — William Marshall Stutzman, 91, of Geneseo, formerly of Buda, died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at Hammond-Henry Hospital in Geneseo.
Born April 23, 1918, in Buda to Roy and Gertrude (Pratt) Stutzman, he married Cleta Ferne Marquis Jan. 12, 1938, in Buda. She died June 13, 2009.
He was a farmer in Macon Township of Buda until 1992. Upon retirement, he moved to Geneseo and purchased and operated an 80-acre horse ranch and was actively involved until his death.
He was a Buda School Board member, Macon Township trustee, Bunker Hill Cemetery trustee, and deacon and elder of Bunker Hill Church. He was a member of Bunker Hill Church for 81 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Connie (William) Daughtery of Geneseo and Judith (Gary) Clark of Hudson; one son, Don Stutzman of Geneseo; one brother, Luther (Phyllis) Stutzman of Sterling; one sister, Ruth Marquis of Normal; 10 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Dolores Barnett; and one great-granddaughter, Jordan Barnett.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bunker Hill Church of God, Buda, with the Rev. Fred Criminger officiating. Burial will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery, rural Buda.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church.
