Card shower for Friel's 90th birthday

Margaret “Peg” Friel of Dixon, formerly of Ohio, Ill., will celebrate her 90th birthday with a card shower.

Margaret was born Sept. 10, 1909, in the Amboy area and grew up in Maytown. She became the bride of Nate Friel and they had five boys, Tony (Jan), who is deceased, Jim (Pam), Dan (Beth), Phil (Becky) and John (Becky), and three daughters, Mary Jean, Liz (Mark Schmitt) and Theresa (Tom Draper). She also has 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two deceased great-grandchildren.

Margaret had worked in the lunchroom at Ohio Grade School. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Maytown and Immaculate Conception Church in Ohio.
