Princeton American Legion Auxiliary Unit 125 volunteer Eleanor Sapp (from left); Community Service Chairman Sherry DeSalle; and Auxiliary President Carol Allicks complete a display window at the Prouty Community Building for this weekend’s Homestead Festival. The window display shows some of the items collected by the auxiliary and sent to U.S. military troops around the world. The auxiliary is continuing its collection and will also have a collection can for monetary donations at the Prouty window site. Items and donations may also be dropped off at the American Legion Post, located at 1549 W. Peru St., Princeton. The auxiliary is also seeking the names and addresses of area servicemen and women. Those names can also be sent to the 1549 W. Peru St. address or mailed to Clara Pease, 321 Briar Lane, Princeton, Ill. 61356. The Princeton auxiliary also completed a second window display, at the Sherwin-Williams store, showing military uniforms and related-items dating back to World War I.
