Ice cream social

PRINCETON — Liberty Village of Princeton will have an ice cream social from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the activity room to celebrate Grandparents Day. This special day allows family members to honor grandparents with a special visit. Ice cream, pie and coffee will be available.

Drill team performance

PRINCETON — The South Shore Drill Team will perform in the Sheriff’s Department parking lot after the parade today, Saturday.

Concert planned

PERU — The Shooting Park Road Baptist Church in Peru will host the Warren family singers at 10 a.m. Sunday for a joint Sunday service. The Warren family from Springfield, Mo., sings southern gospel music and plays various musical instruments including the piano, guitar, bass, fiddle, harmonica, melodica and the saw. Pastor Ronnie Warren has been in full-time music ministry since 1993 and visits as many as 150 churches a year. The church is located at 4281 Shooting Park Road, Peru. Book fair

TISKILWA — Reagan Middle School will host a scholastic book fair Monday through Friday. The book fair will be open each day from 8:15 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the school library. Evening hours will be available from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, during the school open house. Anyone planning to visit during school hours must remember to check in at the school office.

Book club meeting

PRINCETON — The Princeton Public Library Book Club will meet at 4 p.m. Oct. 8 in the community meeting room at the library. The group will discuss “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” by Mary Ann Shaffer. The staff at the library will be glad to assist anyone in borrowing this book. Anyone is invited to join the group, sponsored by Friends of Princeton Public Library, in discussing this book.

Anniversary celebration

MANLIUS — The First Baptist Church of Manlius will celebrate its 110th anniversary on Sept. 20 at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Roger Larson, a former member, is the guest pastor. The theme of the anniversary is an “Old Fashioned Sunday”. Everyone is encouraged to come dressed in attire of the era. A potluck dinner will follow the service. Drinks and table service will be provided. Games for all ages are planned for the afternoon.
