Doris Pinter
ARLINGTON — Doris Kathleen Pinter, 83, of rural Arlington died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at Manor Court of Peru.
Born Sept. 23, 1925, in Princeton to Ira and Erma (Husser) Seral, she married Everett Pinter Nov. 21, 1943, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. He died Sept. 7, 1991.
She was a homemaker and had been a housekeeper at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley. She was a graduate of DePue High School and valedictorian of her graduating class.
She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America) and the church Altar Guild. She sang in the church choir.
Surviving are three children, DeAnn (Terry) King of Crawfordsville, Ind., and Debra Cooper and Brian (Lynn) Pinter, both of Arlington; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Opal Pinter.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church “Church on the Hill”, Princeton, with the Rev. Kim Lee-Brown officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Fiocchi Funeral Home, Cherry, and one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the church.
Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church “Church on the Hill”, the Alzheimer’s Association or the donor’s choice.
