Grand jury indicts six

PRINCETON — A Bureau County grand jury considered the following cases on Sept. 11:

• Luke A. Raley, 31, of Spring Valley was indicted for the Class 1 felony of unlawful possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, heroin. He is accused of possessing with the intent to deliver to another more than one gram but less than 15 grams of heroin on Aug. 4. Raley is in custody in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

• Christopher L. Lemmons, 25, of DePue was indicted for the Class 2 felony of burglary. He is accused of entering a DePue business without authority on Aug. 1 with the intent to commit a theft. DePue Police Officer Jerry Mertel testified before the grand jury. Lemmons is in custody with bond set at $25,000.

• Michael A. Bland, 37, of Spring Valley was indicted for the Class 4 felony of driving while license revoked/subsequent offense. He is accused of driving a motor vehicle in Spring Valley on Aug. 5 at a time when his driver’s license was revoked due to a DUI conviction and a conviction for driving while license revoked in LaSalle County. Spring Valley Police Officer Adam Curran testified before the grand jury. Bland is free from custody, having posted 10 percent of a $15,000 bond.

• Oziel Santiago, 21, of DePue was indicted for the Class 3 felony of identity theft. He is accused of possessing personal identification information of a Texas man on Aug. 24. Spring Valley Police Officer Adam Curran testified before the grand jury. Santiago is free from custody, having posted 10 percent of a $15,000 bond.

• Andrew M. McNaught, 18, of Kewanee was indicted for the Class 3 felony of aggravated battery. He is accused of breaking the jaw of a Kewanee man on Aug. 23. Investigator Gary Becket, with the Bureau County Sheriff’s Department, testified before the grand jury. McNaught is free from custody, having posted 10 percent of a $5,000 bond.

• There was also one suppressed case.

The indictments were presented to the grand jury by Bureau County State’s Attorney Patrick Herrmann, First Assistant State’s Attorney Anthony Sciuto and Assistant State’s Attorney Daniel Anderson.
