Princeton City Council 9-21
PRINCETON — The Princeton City Council conducted the following business at its Sept. 21 meeting in city hall:
• Heard the city collected $144,372 in the city’s 1 percent share of sales tax in September, compared to $145,379 in September 2008. The city also collected $47,502 in September from its 0.5 percent non home rule tax, compared to $49,348 in September 2008. Year-to-date, the city has collected $52,455 less than one year ago from its 1 percent share of sales tax and $22,458 less in its non home rule tax.
• Heard the city’s electric department will be featured in three upcoming publications in articles featuring municipalities with electric departments.
ª Amended the city code to increase the number of Class C alcohol liquor licenses within the city limits from nine to 11. Class C deals with the sale of package alcohol which is removed from the premises.
• Authorized the purchase of a 2010 Ford F-250 truck for the sum of $20,963 from Browning Ford, Inc. of Princeton for the street department.
• Announced the city will accept sealed bids for chemicals for the water treatment plant, with bids to be received no later than 1 p.m. Oct. 9 at the city clerk’s office.
• Approved payment of monthly bills as follows: $14,698 in Department of Public Affairs; $20,804 in Department of Accounts and Finances; $104,898 in Department of Public Health and Safety; $153,715 in the Department of Streets and Public IMprovements; $632,880 in the Department of Public Property and Utilities.
