PRINCETON — Anybody wanting to have cool and neat threads can find them at a Princeton business.
Heather Glenn, owner of Oohs and Aahs, 519 N. Main St., recently added a line of clothing and accessories she calls hippie retro.
“We have cool clothes from the 1960s era,” she said. “Kids like to wear it, and women like to wear it. No one sells it locally.”
She describes them as casual, free flowing and colorful, cool clothes.
“They are all new clothes,” she added. “We also have recycled bags made by women in Africa to support their families. They are made from recycled material.”
The bags are all handmade, and each one is distinctly different.
Besides her clothing line, Glenn draws on her 20 years of experience as an emergency room registered nurse to develop supplements she puts together for each customer based on what medicines the person is taking to make sure the supplements don’t interfere with their prescribed medications.
“I make sure the natural remedies don’t impact the medicines you are taking,” she said. “I sell spices, aromatherapy items and bulk teas. I am finishing a degree in naturopathy.”
Glenn helped start the free Bureau County Health and Wellness Clinic in Bureau County. She knows medication falls short for some people and wants to tailor supplements for each person’s needs to fill in those gaps.
Glenn grew up in Princeton and graduated from Princeton High School in 1978. She lived in Sheffield before moving back to Princeton eight years ago. She began offering natural health care spa services four years ago.
Although holistic health services, supplements and the hippie retro clothes may seem disjointed, Glenn said they are a reflection of her personality.
Her current hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
