Three cheers
for Ohio High School

When I attended the joint session of the Ohio High School and Grade School boards to discuss the future of Ohio High School on Oct. 5, I was impressed by the information gathered by the committee. It affirmed my belief that Ohio High School is a very good school.

Therefore, I offer my congratulations to the Ohio students who took the ACT in the last five years — only one school placed above you in all of Bureau County, and that was by a slim margin.

Many recent Ohio High School graduates stated they were well-prepared for college and careers, due to the efforts and expertise of the OHS teachers. Thank you to the teachers, administration and staff who have made the schools successful and continue to prepare our students.

Thank you to all the Ohio School Board members who continue to serve the school and the community with such dedication. It is through your hard work that both Ohio schools are operating in the black — an achievement most Illinois schools wish they could claim.

Since Ohio High School is successful and is not in financial straits, it would benefit our students and our community to keep it open.
