IVCC will host State University Transfer Day

OGLESBY — Illinois Valley Community College’s Counseling Center will host a State University Transfer Day Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 21 in the main lobby.

Representatives from the following universities will be available to meet with interested students at IVCC’s fair: Chicago State University, Eastern Illinois University, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Illinois State University, Northern Illinois University, Southern University at Carbondale, University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Illinois at Springfield, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Western Illinois University.

“This is an opportunity for students and area community members to learn directly from their selected university representatives what courses and grade point average is required for admission,” said Jim Stevenson, transfer coordinator at IVCC. “Participants will have a chance to learn about how to apply for university housing, financial aid and be able to address their specific transfer issues. This is a great chance to get the most current information without leaving the Illinois Valley.”
