Veterans Day ceremony
PRINCETON — The Princeton Veterans Group of Princeton, consisting of American Legion Post 125, VFW Post 4323 and AMVETS Post 180, and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 125 of Princeton, will conduct Veterans Day ceremonies at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 11 at Veterans Park on South Main Street in Princeton. All area veterans are invited to participate in the ceremony. A small reception will be held at the American Legion Post 125 after the ceremony.

Soup sale
DEPUE — DePue Ladies Auxiliary Post 4602 will have a soup sale on Oct. 29. Both chicken noodle or vegetable soup will be sold by the quart for $5 each. Soup will be made to order so anyone wishing to order can contact Carol Greathouse at (815) 447-2974 or Tora Garetto at (815) 447-2246. Orders need to be in by Oct. 25.

Meeting set
DEPUE — The village of DePue’s 150th year anniversary meeting will be at 6 p.m. Monday in the Water Works Building. Anyone interested in helping on this committee is welcome to attend.

Herb Guild meeting
STANDARD — The Illinois Valley Herb Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Putnam County Senior Center in Standard. The program will be “Age Old Organics” and the Herb of the Month is catnip by Lori Segovich. The refreshment committee will be Vicki Gensini, Sharon Fiedler, Barb Schmitz and Rose Zimmer. Members are reminded that the $15 dues are due this month. New members are always welcome. The Guild has their aprons and teabooks for sale. They can be purchased at the meeting or by contacting a guild member. There are still a few committees that need volunteers to fill. Anyone interested should call president Gwen Bray.

Breakfast planned
LAMOILLE — LaMoille band and choral students, the Music Boosters and the LaMoille Lions Club will sponsor a pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at the LaMoille Lions Club. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 6 to 12.

Coffee planned
PRINCETON — The next Coffee with the City Manager will be at 6:30 p.m. today, Thursday, at the Princeton Public Library. Residents are invited and encouraged to attend. City Manager Jeff Fiegenschuh will give a brief PowerPoint on the “State of the City” and then answer questions.
