Defensive driving course to be held
KEWANEE — The Bureau, Henry and Stark County Farm Bureaus will be hosting a Defensive Driving Course from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 12 and 13 at the Black Hawk College Community Education Center, located at 404 E. Third St. (Room 102) in Kewanee. Both days must be attended to receive the certification. The registration fee of $20 will cover course materials and lunch both days.
The course is open to people 55 and older who are auto policy holders. Those completing the course are eligible for a discount on their auto insurance. Check with your agent to clarify the amount of discount that will apply. Those with Country Insurance qualify for a 5 percent discount on auto premiums for the next three years.
This program was developed by the National Safety Council and will be taught by safety specialist, Doug Sommer of Pekin. The course is very informative, entertaining and relevant to today’s driving environment and standards. An examination is not required to complete the course or receive certification.
