PRINCETON — The Princeton Public Library wants to remind everyone KidLit will have a Trivia Night at the Metro Center starting at 7 p.m. Saturday. All are invited to attend.
On Monday, Youth Services will sponsor a Halloween Party. Wear your costume, and come and enjoys games, stories and food starting at 6:30 p.m.

A preschool story hour will be held Tuesday with the theme “Halloween.” The program will be held in the Youth Services Department, and preschool children, and their parents or guardians are welcome to attend.

An After School Craft Day will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Oct. 29. The activity will be pumpkin carving. Also, the Book Club will meet at 7 p.m.

LAMOILLE — The LaMoille-Clarion Library will have a Halloween Story Hour for younger children, from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the children’s area of the library. Halloween stories (none too scary!) will be read, a craft will be done, and refreshments will be served. A parent or adult must accompany children. Wearing a costume is optional. Join us for some early Halloween fun.

OHIO — Mark your calendars and plan to head over to the Ohio Public Library for the third annual Ohio Library Halloween Bash, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. There will be hot dogs, chips, fruit punch, goodies for the kids, games, stories, crafts and a costume contest. Any child wishing to take part in the costume judging should be at the library before noon. SPRING VALLEY — “Recipes from the Illinois River Road National Scenic Byway” is being sold at the Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library for $18. The Illinois River Road runs from Ottawa to Havana, and many of the communities have businesses that participated in this recipe book.

Also, a book sale is continually going on throughout the year, with many items added each week. Softcover books are five for $1, and hardbacks are two for $1.
Secretary of State Jesse White, in cooperation with the library, will offer a “Rules of the Road Review” course Nov. 13. The course is free and is designed to help participants pass the Illinois driver’s license renewal examination. The course prepares applicants for the general written and road examinations, and provides information on the vision screening. To register or if you have any questions, call (815) 663-4741.
