Battery

Donald G. Galiher, 51, of Spring Valley was charged with battery following an investigation at the Bureau County Hi-Rise at 6:42 a.m. Oct. 20 .

Retail theft

Jessica M. Balma, 22, of Peru was charged with the retail theft after allegedly taking a bottle of liquor from Valley News at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 17.

Driving while suspended

Kevin J. Chapman, 20, of Sacramento, Calif., was charged with driving while suspended, following a traffic stop at the intersection of Routes 6 and 89 at 8:45 a.m. Oct. 18.

Possession of cannabis

Cassandra Farmer, 41, of Sacramento, Calif., was charged with possession of cannabis at the intersection of Routes 6 and 89 at 8:45 a.m. Oct. 18.

Warrant arrest

Mark a Hensley, 38, of Walnut was arrested on a Whiteside County warrant for failure to appear on a burglary charge, following a traffic stop at Greenwood and Dakota streets at 9:16 p.m. Oct. 14. He was also charged with driving with a loud muffler and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Jose M. Cervantes, 28, of DePue was arrested on a Bureau County warrant for failure to appear for no insurance, following a traffic stop at Route 6 and the Dalzell Blacktop at 2:54 p.m. Oct. 14.

No valid driver’s license

Rutilio Xolo, 15, of Aurora was charged with no valid driver’s license following a traffic stop at Route 29 and Briarcliff Drive at 10 a.m. Oct. 15.

Dog running at large

Rae T. Gosnell, 26, of Spring Valley was charged with allowing her dog to run at large in the 500 block of W. Saint Paul St. at 6:25 p.m. Oct. 20.

Accidents

Vehicles driven by Rebecca Farrell Penningroth, 44, of Tipton, Iowa, and Gina M. Taliani, of Spring Valley were involved in an accident at the Spring Valley curves on Route 6 at 6:49 p.m. Oct. 19. Penningroth was ticketed for improper lane usage.

Tyler E. Buchanan, 29, of Mendota was involved in a single vehicle accident at the Spring Valley curves on Route 26 at 3:23 p.m. Oct. 19. Buchanan was charged with improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
