SPRING VALLEY — Sister Anne Germaine Picard, SMP, was recently selected to occupy a position on the St. Margaret’s Board of Directors. She will fill the seat vacated by Sister Elaine Lange, SMP.
In December 2008, Sister Germaine relocated to the Illinois Valley. She joins Sister Elaine at the Convent in Princeton. After serving St. Aloisius Medical Center in Harvey, N.D., for 12 years, she closed her tenure as pastoral care director on Nov. 30, 2008. She began her new role as director of vocational ministry for Sisters of Mary of the Presentation.
She was born and raised on a farm near Dunseith, N.D. She was 17 when she chose to dedicate her life to serving Christ, and went on to study at the formation house in Spring Valley three years to become a Sister. She also trained in Chicago to become an X-ray technician, which she did for four years at St. Margaret’s and 11 years in Bottineau, N.D. She then moved into vocation, youth, campus, formation and pastoral care ministries.
