Smith family reunion

WYANET — The descendants of William and Mattie (Aldrich) Smith met for their annual reunion Oct. 4 at the Wyanet Park Shelter with 40 people in attendance.

Hosts for this year’s reunion were the descendants of the Lloyd Smith family, Pat Glafka, Betty Appenzellar, Deb Cushman and Rhonda Stutzke.

There were three births recorded for the year: Rodney Thomas Knight Schafer, son of Stephen and Jayme (Reed) Schafer, born July 16; Lawson Ross Smith, son of Justin Smith and Nicole Black, born Aug. 7; and Danika Nicole Burden, daughter of Arthur and Tricia Burden II, born Aug. 22.

There were two marriages recorded: Abigail Guthrie to Arthur Batten May 23 and Sarah Nicole Rowley to Dino Anthony Petrin Jr. June 20. There were no deaths recorded. Cards were signed for Carol Gingrich and Richard Smith who were hospitalized recently and not able to attend.

Attending this year’s reunion were: Pat Glafka, Betty Appenzeller, Dave and Rhonda Stutzke and Debbie Cushman of the Sterling and Rock Falls area; Rhonda and Anna Telfer of Western Springs; Marion and Janet Olson of Glen Ellyn; Keith Olson, Ona Anderson and Bob Anderson of Walnut; Leon Olson of Atkinson; Jerry, Curtis and Grant Reed, Ariel Blaul, Rodney and Tammy Lange, Stephen, Jayme and Rodney Schafer, Vyron and Kay Dever, Randi Mauser, Andrew and Daniel Gould, all of Princeton; Manuel and Anita Reed and Jim Reed of Wyanet; Jeff and Sandi Reed, Abby and Berry Smith of LaMoille; Danny and Connie Mauser of Malden and Dino and Sarah Petrin Jr. of Elk Grove Village.

The oldest family member in attendance was Ona Anderson of Walnut and the youngest was Rodney Schafer of Princeton.

The 2010 reunion will be Oct. 3, 2010, at the Wyanet Park Shelter, with the Keith Olson family as the host.
