Veterans workshop
PRINCETON — American Legion Auxiliary Unit 125 will hold its local veterans workshop beginning at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Legion Building. This workshop date changed to be closer to Veterans Day. For more information, call Clara Pease at (815) 872-0430.
HCE meeting
PRINCETON — The Princeton Junior HCE will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Caryl Shettel. Ruth Eklof is co-hostess. The lesson is “All About Pasta,” and will be given by Caryl Shettel.
Le Leche meeting
SPRING VALLEY — Le Leche League of the Illinois Valley, a breast feeding support group, will meet at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 19 in Webster Park. November’s discussion will be about “Avoiding/Overcoming Difficulties.” Expecting mothers are encouraged to attend. For more information, contact Mary at (815) 894-3303.
Thanksgiving dinner
PERU — A free community Thanksgiving dinner will be hosted by the First Congregational Church of Peru at noon Thanksgiving Day in Morgan Hall, 1431 Fourth Street, Peru. The dinner is open to all, for any reason, who wish to attend. For more information, call (815) 223-0772.
IVCIL meeting
LASALLE — The Illinois Valley Center for Independent Living Peer Support Group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the IVCIL office, 18 Gunia Drive in LaSalle. To R.S.V.P., call IVCIL at (815) 224-3126 by noon Monday. Consumers of IVCIL, their family and friends are welcome to join the group and discuss issues that are affecting you and your family, positively or negatively.
The group meets the second Monday of each month.
Art show and sale
OTTAWA — The Ottawa Art League will host the semi-annual “Visions of the Valley” fine arts show and sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 14 at Jeremiah Joe Coffee, 807 LaSalle Street, Ottawa. Seventeen area artists will feature their work, which is available for sale. The show is open to the public at no fee.
