Stephens, Victor land first-team honors

Princeton’s Molly Stephens and Hall’s Mickey Victor were named to the NCIC Lincoln first-team all-conference team in Sunday’s meeting held in Chillicothe.

Stephens is a senior setter in her third year on the varsity, returning from last year’s state squad. Victor is a senior for the Lady Devils.

Princeton also placed junior hitter Jolynn Kane and senior libero Sylvie Tracy on the second team. Hall landed senior Katelyn Raineri on the second team and sophomore Kelle Nett on honorable mention.

The all-conference first-team included seniors Kelsey Brooke and Laci Peterson of league champ IVC, Selena Waido and Emily Bodmer of Mendota and freshman Linsey Brown of Rock Falls.

Second-team honors went to seniors Michelle O’Brien of IVC, Cassie Ince of Kewanee, Bri Pohl of Mendota, Ellie Henson of Rock Falls and sophomore Kalli Scheppers of Mendota.

Kewanee and Rock Falls tied for first-place honors for the sportsmanship award with IVC taking third.

• IVC finished top the Lincoln standings at 9-1. Princeton, Mendota and Rock Falls finished in a three-way tie for third at 6-4. Hall was fifth at 3-7.

The Princeton sophomores posted a 10-0 mark to claim league honors. Mendota was second at 8-2.

Princeton also took a piece of the freshman pie, sharing first-place honors with Mendota at 8-2.
