LADD — The Ladd Public Library was recently notified it is the recipient of a Books for Children Grant from the Libri Foundation. Librarian Amy Galetti-Bosi said in order to take full advantage of this opportunity the Ladd Library needs to raise $350. In return, the Libri Foundation will match these funds by a ratio of 2:1, so for every dollar the library raises, the foundation will give an additional $2 to go toward the purchase of children’s books.
Also, the library was chosen to also receive $350 in math and science titles for the children’s collection. Fundraising efforts include sale of Ladd Library Angels to be placed in the library window, and a cookie sale and book sale on Dec. 5 during the Ladd Christmas in the Village. The library would appreciate patron’s support of its grant fund to provide new materials to the children’s department.

In addition, the library has also started a book club. The selection for the month is “The Shack” by William Young. Copies of this book are available for checkout at the library, and the club will be discussing this book at 6 p.m. Monday. All adults are welcome to join.
The library is also having preschool story hours at 10:30 a.m. the first and third Monday of each month. These sessions include stories, activities and a craft. They are designed for ages 3 to 5 with a parent or guardian.
