Farmers were able to get into the fields for harvest the early part of the week. Soybean harvest in particular made noteworthy progress before midweek rains. Some farmers have reported standing water in the fields, forcing them to work around those areas when they are able to harvest.

There were 3.1 days suitable for fieldwork reported. Topsoil moisture was rated 30 percent adequate and 70 percent surplus. Fourteen percent of the corn crop was reported as harvested, while the five-year average is 77 percent. Corn was rated at 63 percent good to excellent and 28 percent fair, with 9 percent rated as poor or very poor. The soybean harvest was reported as 33 percent complete, while the five-year average is 86 percent. Soybeans were rated at 56 percent good to excellent, 31 percent rated as fair and 13 percent rated as poor or very poor.

Temperatures statewide averaged 53.6 degrees, 1.5 degrees above average. Precipitation averaged 2.06 inches, 1.38 inches above average.
