Bureau Valley South PTO meets

WYANET — The regular meeting of the Bureau Valley South PTO was held at 4 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Wyanet cafeteria. Those present were President Tracy Shepard, Secretary Angie Bohm, Treasurer Angie Fisher, Gwen Swanson, Mae Jaggers, Hollie Rosene Alicia Law and Deb Pease.

Angie Fisher presented the treasurer’s report with a starting balance of $9,914.95 with expenses of $1,627.50 and an ending balance of $8,287.45 as of Sept. 9. The treasurer’s report was approved.

In old business, Fanny May candy fundraiser orders are still being counted. The event ended Oct. 13.

Thank you notes were sent out to the volleyball ticket takers.

Teacher Mary Standard asked the building department at Buda to pay for the new air conditioner and they agreed.

Under new business: Sign-up sheets for boys’ basketball ticket-takers were due back the next Friday.

The PTO agreed to a mini-grant of $205 for a first-grade field trip to the theater to see “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” Oct. 29. The fee would be $5.50 per child for the movie and refreshments. The PTO would pay $5 and parents would pay 50 cents per child.

The PTO tabled a mini-grant of $225 to take kindergarten classes. The group tabled $75 request toward the replacement of plastic tubs in her room because the mini-grant was not signed by principal Denise Bolin.

It was determined that two parents are needed to bring food to American Education week Nov. 15-21.
