OHIO — The Ohio Grade School Board took action on the following items at its meeting Sept. 22:

• Accepted and approved the budget for the 2010 fiscal year as presented, following a budget hearing.

• Approved pest control contract with Taylor Environmental Services, Inc. pending high school board approval.

• Approved the application for Recognition of Schools.

• Approved the Joint Agreement Budget for the Alternative Education Program.

• Approved the renewal certificate of membership for the Illinois School District Property/Casual Insurance pending high school board approval.

• Approved to pay IESA fees.

• Reviewed and accepted the Fiscal Year 2009 audit report.

• Approved the salary percentages of shared faculty and staff pending high school board approval.

• Had first reading on policy manual updates

• Appointed Superintendent Sharon Flesher as Freedom of Information Act Officer.

• Approved Itemized salary compensation report.

• Discussed some problems with the roof leaking. Superintendent Sharon Flesher said she contacted the roof company, as it was under warranty. Durolast came to inspect the roof and determined all the leaks were covered by the warranty. They have repaired all the problems. The district will now have the opportunity to submit damages, such as the upstairs closet, to them for repair.

• Discussed problems with the gutter on the east side of the building in the back. It has rusted through allowing water to run down the building and penetrate the brick. This gutter is an industrial strength steel gutter. The board also discussed a clog in the sewer system.

• Heard the district was on a rotation for a regional office compliance audit.

• Reviewed a summary of the ISAT scores.

• Contracted vision and hearing services from Mary Salz and services from nurse Sue Cater for the 2009-10 school year pending high school board approval.
