Hall, Bureau Valley drop title matches
At Manlius: Mendota finished its run through the Three Rivers Conference, defeating the host Bureau Valley Storm 25-19, 25-17 in Saturday's finals of the Bureau Valley 2A volleyball regional at the Storm Cellar.
The Spikers, who also beat Bureau Valley in last year's regionals finals, knocked out Three Rivers champ Port Byron Riverdale in Thursday's semifinals.
Mendota will advance to the Oregon Sectional to face Savanna West Carroll on Tuesday. Bureau Valley ends its season at 21-11.
At Wenona: NCIC Lincoln champ Chillicothe IVC knocked out the Hall Lady Red Devils 25-10, 25-18 in Saturday afternoon's championship match of the Fieldcrest 2A volleyball regional.
IVC (28-5) returns home for sectional play against El-Paso Gridley Tuesday. Hall bows out at 11-25.
