Storm takes third at sectional; PHS' Rhodes, Hall's Janusick, Mosbach also qualify for state

AURORA - The Bureau Valley Storm boys' cross country team punched its return ticket to the IHSA 1A state meet with a third-place finish in Saturday's Aurora Sectional meet.

They will be joined by Hall's Scott Janusick, who placed fourth, and T.J. Mosbach, who placed seventh, and Princeton's C.J. Rhodes, who secured the final qualifying berth with a 16th-place finish.

The Storm placed third with 151 points following Sterling Newman (121) and Westmont (140). Scoring for the Storm were Derrick Johnson (8th), Cody Taylor (25th), Ryan Johnson (31st), Trent Johnson (32nd) and Kenneth Catton (55th).

The state meet will be held next Saturday at Detweiller Park in Peoria. Bureau Valley finished sixth in last year's state meet.
